Three (or Third time) is a charm.

Four (or Fourth time) is apparently a curse.

My wife used to get real sneezing fits of up to 13 in a row. I got used to waiting till the end before giving a collective “bless you.”

those darn covid tests make me sneeze over & over like that, I can barely tolerate taking them on account of my 7 herniated disks making sneezing painful & something i try very hard to avoid! Thankfully I’ve only had to take one twice, both negative:)

No doubt, I’d bless my friend’s sneeze after a Aaa-Chooo. Possibly after a Ker-Cha-Cha. But no way would he get blessed for a Wa-Chooey and certainly not following a Chee-WaWa!!

After all those sneezes, Earl should say “Bless You” and then that’s it.

Not being at all superstitious, my wife and I stopped saying “bless you” after a sneeze, many years ago.

I had a co-worker that was offended when others didn’t pipe up and say, “bless you.” Do you really need that much attention? I have allergies, when they’re bad I sneeze a lot, like Clyde. I feel annoying enough without everyone calling attention to it. Yet that co-worker would bless me every time.

During my first visit to Laughlin Nevada, I stepped out of a hotel elevator and sneezed. I think the entire elevator crowd “blessed” me. By the way, this was in the ’90s – before Covid.

My parents once had a dog who barked whenever my Dad sneezed. Even when she was in the house and he was outside, if she heard it, she barked. She didn’t care about anyone else sneezing.

The tradition of delivering “blessings” after a sneeze originated in the Middle Ages where it was thought that the “soul” was expelled with every sneeze and the “blessing” was to thwart the devil from getting it until it returned to your body – that is the superstition you are propagating when you say that.

My mom has always been a “serial sneezer.” Her sneezing fits can go on & on & on…. After about the 3rd sneeze, dad (RIP) would grumble, “Go blow that thing!”
