Don’t forget a glass of milk to dunk the Fig Newtons in Earl.
God helps those who help themselves, right?
what does snacking on fig newtons at bedtime have to do with hearing the latest news? nothing actually
Is he trying to break a log jam?
I believe half a sleeve of Ritz crackers would be enough for me.
Fig Newtons – the only cookie I really don’t like. But the news is even more unpalatable.
Fig Newton. One smart cookie!
Fig? Newton? Wasn’t it an apple?
When I was in college a local bakery made frosted apple newtons, delicious.
Add a tin of sardines to those newtons, that’ll give you some interesting nightmares.
That was my Fathers answer.
I love Fig Newtons, but, two sleeves!
Can’t beat Fig Newtons to ease your anxiety.
Who gets out of bed to eat? Once I get settled, all I want to do is sleep.
Earl is avoiding the reality of the news…Fig Newtons distract his attention…
An excellent idea! I think I’ll grab a few as well.
That’s the point
Constant, confusing lying and disinformation is the way autocrats maintain control; the people never know what is true and what is false, so they shrug their shoulders and ignore everything, even the truth.
Yes, comfort food in times of chaos. I can’t say I disagree.
Fig Newton’s at bed time….golly?
She said “who” to believe, not “what.” I believe you’re losing it, Earl, and Opal does too.
Dark chocolate for me, healthy, made from beans!
Earl not interested in the news. Surprised Opal did not ask for cookies too! For me I do watch news, the devastation that is taking place and not eating at bed time.
… and don’t forget your Depends this time.
It’s avoidance. Eating does keep me from thinking about the end of the world.
We all need to keep our priorities straight.
Earl is very wise.
a couple of sleeves?
Yeah, but do you believe the nutrition label? It says a “serving size” is 2 cookies. Have you ever seen someone eat only two fig newtons. Maybe this should be a big headline on Fox. :)
Although Fig Newtons are okay, never one of my go to snacks.
Brian Regan has a skit on the serving size of fig newtons. Looks like Earl has seen it.
Dangit, now im hungry
I can’t stand fig newtons, soon to be ex husband loves them and would buy them. What Earl is doing is what I call stress eating and I have been doing a lot of that the last 2 years and my high diabetes numbers are the proof.
I’d rather have fig newtons, than the news…and I hate fig newtons.
And a Beers!
