I don’t Habla Espanol either. This song never sounded like that to me.
I see Nelson going full Morse code at the end there!
What do you mean it isn’t “Fleas Navidog”?
Should they tell Nelson that there are other languages besides English?
Even with that mishearing, he probably still gets the key message when it switches to English with “I want to wish you a Merry Christmas … from the bottom of my heart.”
I like that song too!
Childhood ears have definitely botched many song lyrics
I love “Pickles” from the heart of my bottom.
I always thought it was:
“Do not go, gentile, into that good night.” Dylan Thomas – 1914-1953
(’Always wondered where I was supposed to go – and how).
5? I wondered how old Nelson was supposed to be. I thought he was closer to 7 or 8. He’s been shown doing homework and having little friends, a 5yr old is barely in kindergarten. I never had homework in kindergarten, in fact I don’t think it started until maybe 3rd grade or so but that was over 30yrs ago so perhaps it’s different now
For some reason I read that to the tune of baby shark.
There’s fleas ony my dad…
Not a bad mondegreen. Bob Rivers did a good parody, “Police Stopped My Car”.
cue the cancel culture… 3… 2… 1…
I heard a kid singing “The Police Stole my Car”!
Prospero Ano Nuevo to one and all!
When my son was young he sang " Police mommy duck".
I wanna wish you a merry Christmas, from the heart of my bottom! Err!
I thought for the longest time he was singing " I got fleas in my crotch "
I generally don’t like Christmas music but this is one song I really like.
Funnily enough that song was playing on the radio when I read this. I can see his point of view, or hearing :)
His mom should buy some Q-tips..!!!!!!!!!!
LOL! Too funny!
Has mommy beek kidnapped ?
Reminds me of my brother when he was little..“Davy, Davy Crockett, king of the wild fromdee…”
Fleas on my dog, is what it’s always sounded like to me.
Thanks for the earworm, Mr. Crane! Now that’ll be in my head all day!
My daughter used to sing “Release Molly Duck! Release Molly Duck!”
Sounds more like Morse code than Español.
I can hear Nelson singing his version of Felix Navidad.
Thank you Sylvia Wright and Jon Carroll.
“Fleas on my dog …”
Much to the chagrin of my actual dog to whom I sing this repeatedly and with delight every year.
Nooo. He’s only gotten to “A” in Morse code.
My Brother-in-law’s Mommy is Dot…(Dorthy).
My dad used to sing “Fleas Nattie’s got!” So I changed it to “Fleas Daddy’s got!”
I didn’t know Nelson is just supposed to be 5 yrs old. He seems older.
What ever- – can not stand that song. When I was working retail the store played it all day long- – nor a lie either.
Growing up in Southern California, Feliz Navidad was as much part of the season as the decorated palm trees. My wife (from Idaho) just doesn’t understand this.
Felix Navidad? That’s Santa Claus’s cousin from Mexico.
[continues to maintain a straight face…]
He’s only 5? I thought he was older than that. Huh.
Thanks for ruining José Feliciano’s Feliz Navidad for me. This was even worse than the Fab Four singing it to the Beatles “And I Love Her” tune.
