Don’t use that stuff on your lens! It will damage it so bad you won’t be able to use it. Just get your glasses fixed by a professional… (so ends the lesson for comic strip characters who do not exist in real life) ;-)
1. Opal is just mean to him again. 2. Sunflower girl is right. My lens fell out (the bottom of my glasses are rimless) and the store used plain old fishing wire to fix it. 3. Walstlb is right, too. I don’t even buy the stuff any more. I never needed it to glue my hard hat to a piece of lumber so a crane could lift me off the ground.
Since I have a very significant correction I have had that problem in the past, when I use to wear wire-rim glasses. Switched to plastic lens (lighter and with higher index’s) and thicker frames.
Seriously, do NOT use super glue on your eyeglasses. If there is any skin oil on the lenses, the fumes from the glue will gather on the oil and solidify, and you will get permanent fingerprints on the lenses.
Just go get a glasses repair kit or take the glasses to a glasses store. There is probably a screw that fell out. That happened to me on vacation. We went to a grocery store, got a repair kit, and the glasses were as good as new in 20 minutes.
The punchline is nothing but a cheap insult and not funny or even amusing. C’mon, Mr. Crane. At least let poor Earl get his revenge. A remark or two about Opal’s dress size would brighten the day, for example.
The problem, as I recently discovered, is the screw needs to tightened up or replaced. The problem with that is you need your glasses and a magnifying glass to see the microscopic screw.
I generally take such things to the optometrist. Who never fails to get it fixed… eventually. And usually within 5 minutes. One of the better deals in this modern day.

You must be using the wrong ‘Krazy Glue’ if the lens keeps falling out.
Try a dot or two of Flex-Seal.

So Earl’s not willing to shell out the extra bucks on getting new glasses, huh?

I actually used crazy glue the other day for exactly that. Guess I’ve become Earl. (Damn, I even look like him!)

The hard part about when they make Krazy Glue is picking out the horses that have gone nuts!

That’s right, Earl— Staying with an awful wench like Opal only proves you’ve lost too many brain cells!

As long as Earl only lost the brain cells that don’t work ;-)

Everyone knows Krazy Glue is only good for gluing your fingers together.

Take the glasses to any eye glass store. They’ll either fix it for free or tell you it can’t be fixed. Getting glue on the lens is not a good idea!

No, man, the darn screw keeps loosening and you must get blowtorch strength Loctite for it.
