I like a dab of whipped cream on my strawberries too. Earl has it just about right (just kidding!)
A “little” dab’ll do ya!
She’s wondering why Earl is still alive.
Now, if Opal used pouring cream Earl could measure much more accurately. Fresh cream is probably healthier too. :)
Strawberries in january? Of course you’ll need a truckfull of cream and sugar to give this stuff a hint of taste !
I don’t know about Earl but my blood sugar just went way up, thinking about that pile of whipped cream.
Apparently he prefers the pumpkin pie method of moderation.
No harm done even if he can’t.
Just what I like, a few strawberries with my whipped cream.
At least serve proper whipped cream, no that aerosol rubbish.
Opal sometimes the canned stuff just comes out like that and one has no control over it ;-)
Ha ha, this is my better half! I think he’d just eat whipped cream by itself if the fruit wasn’t there.
Earl must have been listening to some Demo before eating dessert – whip it good!
Nope didn’t like whipped cream at all. My grandma would make pies( my fav was Boston Cream pie and banana cream pie, just without the topping too. I liked it without it and I put my Cool Whip on it instead. I did try the stuff from the can my Father in Law had and that wasn’t too bad but not as good as my Cool Whip.
I’ll have the whipped cream, hold the strawberries
Put a buttered biscuit under those strawberries, and real whipped cream on top!
I would hate to see what Earl would call a lot of whipped cream.
I’m surprised Earl didn’t squirt it in him mouth also! LOVE IT!
This is me with strawberry shortcake. Although I do manage to keep the pile on the plate.
I’m with Earl! More whipped cream.
Reminds me of an old Cool Whip commercial from the late ’60s or early ’70s where the family is having Thanksgiving dinner, and the hostess is going over what kind of pie each person wants for dessert. “And no pie for Uncle Harry, just Cool Whip.”
I’ve patterned my life after George…
I knew he forgot something!
The perfect proportions!
You betcha! Me, my oldest sister and my married daughter, had made supper (on separate occasions, of course) of homemade strawberry shortcake. That’s what Mom would make for supper when it was strawberry season. All our “meat and potatoes” husbands asked where supper was and we told them this was supper. To them that was dessert not supper. Oh, well, supper was delicious, anyway.
some foods are just an excuse for eating other foods
my granddaughter likes a little pancake with her chocolate chips
Hey, wait a minute! This is shaving cream !!!!
There was something about the flavor of strawberries that we picked ourselves, to go on Mom’s homemade shortcake with real whipped cream, that made them sooo delicious!
I think the satisfaction of having done the hard work gathering them, made them all the more enjoyable.
Nooo! All air, use Cool Whip, better yet the real thing like mom and grandma used to make.
The only way to eat whipped cream!!
I hope not. Seriously. Fruit for dessert? I eat strawberries for breakfast!
I remember the time my older brother knelt at the side of the table where my dad filled his open mouth with whipped cream. We all laughed hysterically, but he almost choked on it.
I always put extra “whupp” onto my berries because our cat will demand her share. (She gets about ½ of a teaspoon, on my finger).
The best trick, though, is to get the grandkid to “tip your head back and open wide” … and then squirt in enough to fill their mouth. Everybody wins!
Sigh. It’s like this: cakes exist for frosting; all other desserts exist for whipped cream. Got it?
The heck with finding the strawberries. Where’s the bowl???
