A clarification for those who have never heard her name said out loud by anyone with authority on the matter.
Dweeby Phoebe is a rhyme. That’s such a crime. Dakota made it up, that little slime. Getting her back would make a good time.
Sam and Stephanie have been known to pronounce it Fobe.
BB, Seabee, PB, TV (with nasal congestion)
Seabee. Heebie-jeebies. Freebie.
A good dancer, that’s what she be.
How about freebie?
Poetic License, Marigold!
Unless you’re Roy Kent, then it’s “FAY-bee!”
Yes, we see!
Has anyone come up with skeevy?
Wouldn’t it be funny if she pronounced “robe,” “globe” and “strobe” to rhyme with Phoebe?
And this is why rhyme in english sucks, the written letters can rhyme, but the phonetics don’t.
Freebie rhymes with Phoebe.
Sounds good to me. Don’t change a thing…..
I’m feeling kind of sleeby.
I read it as “roby, globy, and stroby” at first glance."
I think if a comic ever mentions that nothing rhymes with a certain word, everyone reading it becomes obligated to identify words that do rhyme with it.
Just go with “bee” and use the preceding word to keep the rhythm.
And she had complained when Dakota called her that.
There once was a girl named of Phoebe, who got into the dance through a freebee, she danced the whole night, till the first morning light, Then she went home and slept like a baby!
Doesn’t sound like rhyming is her thing.
Sir Joseph was wed to his own cousin Hebe, / And said to her, “Dear, now how thankful must we be / That Josephine’s stepfather, if that’s who he be, / Has married that girl from a bumboat (or BB).”
I imagine this is a fun exercise for the translated versions
