This episode is great, but it isn’t funny. The kids that picked on me and beat me up could never really explain why they hated me so much. It was like some fundamental loathing they didn’t even understand. I made them feel stupid.
So, hanging out with Phoebe destroyed Dakota’s high social life? But if I remember correctly, at some point Dakota decides to leave her former friends because they were too shallow. Her accusations to Phoebe are untrue! But is kinda Cute see her like this.
Oh, so they probably made fun of Dakota for hanging out with Phoebe. Also, Phoebe says Dakota has stupid hair in a strip where Dakota makes fun of Phoebe online. Dakota gets payback. And Marigold says ¨Intelligent hair is bad news.¨
I had a friend I played D&D with who went through a period of regret about not hanging with the high school upper tier popular crowd any longer. he said that he really didn’t enjoy hanging out with them…not much in way of common interests. (And this was back when the sci-fi, fantasy, and superhero genre was far less mainstream than now.) I never changed friend groups in high school, so I admit I lacked a full understanding of what he was going through.
Ah yes, the ironic problem of popularity – to be adored by all, you must have exclusivity from those who are not popular. The more popular the greater the segregation.
just because you hang out with someone weird, doesn’t mean you have to act like them, and also you shouldn’t think that just saying hello to a weird person will make you instantly weird.

Think Alejandra can teach me how to tell how dorky someone is just by seeing the way they breathe?

okay, I’m lost… why are we shifting gears from Alejandra being with Dakota’s gal-pals to Dakota being mad at Phoebe?

In short:1. Blames Phoebe for corrupting her with weirdness.
2. Too much of a tsundere to admit her admiration for Phoebe and hides behind rage charged insults:-).

I can never tell is Phoebe is that oblivious to criticism or that good at comebacks.

Just bear with her Phoebe, she’s still processing the full depth and reality of her situation.

Dakota wants Phoebe’s shoes to be like the ones in Back to the Future II. I think Marigold can arrange that….
