Counselor: Gather around here, children, and hear the terrifying tale of... The monster that lives in the lake. They say it's a huge green scaly beast, with fangs as long as your arm! It sleeps most of the year... But when it wakes, it's hungry aand wants to FEED. Marigold: I met him! He WAS hungry, but I brought him some tacos and he is full now. Nice fellow. Phoebe: Marigold, don't ruin the creepy vibe. Marigold: Oh! I am sorry. Would it help it I just make some spooky "OOOOOOO' noises? Phoebe: ...it's worth a try.
This is actually a great deal of truth to this strip. A great number of the lakes in the Pacific Northwest really ARE inhabited by ravenous bloodthirsty monsters. These maniacal creatures will attack and feed on any human unfortanate enough enough to cross their path And when they strike, nothing can stop their brutal onslaught.
They’re called mosquitoes.
