I wish Phil had found something new and interesting to ‘toon about. Or at least I wish he’d used his forum to point out the fact that if EVERYBODY does it, then the problem isn’t the people doing it, but the way the system doesn’t work.
The NARA has sent letters to the representatives of all Presidents asking them to check and see if they have any classified documents in their possession. The exception is President Carter, he signed the law creating the NARA but it didn’t take effect until the following year and as we know he wasn’t President at that point in time.
With that being said Phil Hands like soooooo many other cartoonists purposely leave out the massive elephant in the room, # 45 when repeatedly asked to return the documents he took refused. When subpoenaed for them he returned some, withheld and hid the rest and lied about still having them. When the search warrant reveled the scope of his deception it became obvious this was not a case of inadvertently taking them, it was an attempt at theft of public property by a person who despite his public bloviating is nothing more than a common thief.

I would be surprised if Obama hasn’t already requested that the FBI do a search of his properties.
I think he’s smart enough to know that under the present circumstances, “my lawyers did a search” won’t float a boat.
