So true. I have a $100 deductible and the bill came to $98.40.

I have “American Fat-boy Syndrome”, and as such have in several years exceeded my max deductible and my max out-of-pocket expenses, meaning for the rest of the year I don’t pay either. On the one hand, thanks, Obama! On the other, sucks that it is necessary.

The difference between health insurance and, say, car insurance, is that you will get sick at some point. You are essentially banking your future payouts.

Big Insurance always deserves a shot or two, or three….

Deductible is not a term we know in Europe, same thing goes for co-payments and bankruptcy due to health care costs.But our taxes are a little higher, so there is that.
