Some people need assistance to nap.
i take drugs to regulate my mood and treat my pain. sorry, dude.
Pig has a solution that works for him! No need to be defensive.
Pig has a point. You rarely crash from over sleeping; you can’t overdose on napping.
But it’s still dangerous to do while you’re driving.
Pig’s answer is overly simplistic. Many people have difficulties napping or even sleeping due to anxiety. For those people barbiturates and relaxants can help. Additionally, some people take drugs to feel euphoria (which feels better than having no anxiety), to live in an exciting fantasy world (hallucinogens), or simply to treat pain. Falling asleep to feel good suggests that permanent sleep (ie, death) is a cure to life’s ills (which I suppose it is, but that means Pig is borderline supporting suicide)
I only miss my nap if I get up after 1:00 pm.
It is if you’re operating a motor vehicle.
What if you have trouble falling asleep due to anxiety and then you have nightmares?
It should be.
i thought drugs were just for recreation, like beer…
I take drugs to control my blood pressure and Type 1 diabetes.
The trick is to be able to sleep when you’re supposed to. Insomnia is a b*tch.
Hey weedheads, I hope you’re taking notes here.
It’s even better when you’ve got a great napping buddy like a cat.
And if you want that dizzy high feeling, spin around in the front yard until you fall down (then you can nap there).
Recreational napping does not sound the same as Recreational marijuana or feel the same ;-) … Croc Power !
Too many opioids out there…………
I like napping much better than drugs. It’s legal, healthy and it’s free.
Two small nap hazards: 1) During the short days of mid-winter, falling asleep in daylight and waking up in pitch darkness really bends the brain. 2) When they happen, “daymares” have a lot more bite than “nightmares”.
Unless you are worried about not being able to sleep…
Retired 2 years, but too often I still get “the work dream” when I nap.
Except when driving or operating heavy equipment……or performing surgery.
When I was in high school (late 1960s) some of my buddies used to go the the Islington House to get hammered. They called it “getting dizzy at the Izzy”. I thought about this then rode my motorcycle to the park and got on the swings. Got dizzy, felt happy, no cost, no hangover.
Sleep… the ultimate altered state.
Although it can impair your ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Dr. Andrew Weil in his book The Natural Mind, believes that the desire to alter consciousness periodically is innate and normal . This drive is found in all people and is “vital to us”.
Difficult to engage in this legal, free and healthy way of escaping from the daily grunge when your neighbour’s ankle biting little yap yap starts going.
Well, that’s altered my mind.
Cocaine was amazing in how it effects the brain, just seeing or smelling really good Blow made me goosepimpley. The 1980’s were something else.
Drugs give the illusion of happiness while they destroy your mind, body, and life. Naps have few downsides.
Wow, Pig, actually making some sense for a change
…unless you’re driving,
…Asked Pig as he was drinking his caffeine.
Vanilla cake donuts work, too. But I find that the effect wears off pretty quickly…
Speaking truth to power around nap time.
There’s a nap for that.
Perchance to dream? Ah, there’s the rub.
I call it escape.
Napping is good , just ask Earl Pickles.
I’ve heard it said that reality is for people who can’t handle drugs…… Jus’ sayin’..
Pig has it right! Those natural highs are really the best.
I love my P.M. naps, and don’t miss those napping fellow rush hour commuters.
But, just as with drugs or alcohol, eventually you have to wake up.
Try telling J.C. Dithers!
Pig is my inspiration!
Getting old gives you an excuse to nap.
Napping is good
