Wrap yourself in a blanket of ignorance and forget the WiFi password.
I thought Pig was running away from the world.
Enjoy a few seconds of bliss without the world intruding.
But Pig, you’re so popular that the world runs bahind you!
Spin around and see if the world revolves around you.
If you’re in a forest and you don’t know about the news of the world, then, does the world not exist?
I’m trying the same tactic… But yet, the damn world catches up with me!
Look what thinks it’s important!
At least check the news. It’s good to prepare for what the world is going to do to you next.
The world is NOT available on your phone. Take a hike, ride a bike, actually talk to a friend, face to face. Go dancing or sit by the window and watch the weather. That other stuff is addictive, but it’s not really important.
… He says, sitting in front of a screen while typing…
I don’t let my phone- or the world- or any social media intrude on me.
THANK GOD my phone doesn’t have a screen any bigger then about 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch… and NO APPS!! And my radios are ALWAYS on channels with NO NEWS!!
“News of the World” is a really good Queen album…
I’m with Pig, except that I would omit the word “sometimes”.
I’m much more content being in the world but ignoring most news channels and social media. Put another way: I don’t want to wake up listening to people who start their day asking “that stupid thing did (fill in the blank) do today?”
Much better starting my day here! With all of you.
And thus One Pig all alone started the beginning of the end of Social media(The stuff dreams are made of) ;-) …. Croc Power !
PIG is like an ostrich…..his head is in the sand, avoiding life’s trials and tribulations….
One of my sons avoids social media for exactly this reason.
I know Pig.
…. if your to busy to go fishing, your just to busy… – Capt Wilson Hubbard, St. Petersburg Fl
When my wife and I used to do week-long road trips, we listened to CD’s all day until 4PM local time, when we listened to NPR for news.
There’s a damn good reason we built our casa de campo out in the country! No internet, no television or radio, no phone ( except for an emergency), no noisy neighbors, no traffic, just blessed peace and quiet with the only noise and news delivered by nature.
Even a couple of days there recharges the batteries and improves mental health. “Sometimes it’s best to avoid the world.”
“Where ignorance is bliss, ’tis folly to be wise.” That is not a good thing.
I’m with Pig. Sometimes reading what’s going on is just too much!
Once I took a week off from reading any and all kinds of news. It was wonderful.
♫♫ Make the world go away ♫♫ (Eddy Arnold)
Stop the world, I want to get off.
My phone is just a tool an electronic device that I control. My tools do not control me. I do follow the news but not incessantly. I like to know what’s going on in the outside world but my little world has three young active boys and an unhealthy wife. I’m too busy to spend a lot of time on stuff I can’t affect that has only a minor effect on me and my family.
I absolutely could not agree more with the sentiments of this panel.
An easy way to do that is to live off the gird and become a hermit
Up until the mushroom clouds appear on the horizon, yes.
Kick the world in its South America, Pig.
Main reason I dropped social media.
Now, I get all my news of the world from GoComics.

Lately, my att.com home page was sold to yahoo.com and it’s such a pleasure to turn my computer on each AM to be greeted with the news that some Hollywood ninny bared her boobs, or that there’s 10 things I should know about (whatever) and a whole range of ‘click-bait’ that will keep me up to date and down to earth with Today’s Teen-Agers with once in a while headlines about shootings and forest fires, along with the obligatory Trump Tumblings… (huge eye-roll)
No news is good news. Do TV, Radio, and Newspapers still do that?
My feelings exactly, especially for the past three years.
Works for me.
Reminds me of the Matchbox20 song – “I wish the real world would just stop hasslin’ me!”
Ignoring Earth is what got us into the environmental mess we’re in.
That’s why I try to avoid looking at the comments. ;-)
That’s why I come to GoComics everyday…but sometimes it isn’t the refuge for which I’d hoped…
I may need to know what’s happening, but the usual suspects are only interested in telling me what they want me to hear. Which mostly has nothing to do with anything except their narrow windows.
Well spoken, Pig! —But it is not easy to dodge the whole world unless you have a Fortress of Solitude….
You said it, pig.
