Somehow it reminds me of an episode in Blue Bloods where the Commissioner says “The one conversation you need to have is the one you have been avoiding”. Communication would solve so many problems…
Pig is channeling real motherhood; the good old days when mothers actually raised their children. Mothers used to be present every time a child reacted negatively to some personal slight, encouraging them to forgive and put themselves in the other person’s shoes. Civility must be taught, and daycares and public school teachers are not paid to do this.
I’ve actually seen people apologize and feel bad when the person they treated like crap turns around and treats them with respect and understanding. Doesn’t always work out that way but it can. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar…and all those other sayings that apply here.
I have a long commute, and have learned to be amused at the people fighting their way to get ahead. Mostly open highway with a backup for the last few miles (eat your hearts out, big-city folk!). The people who pass me early in the drive I often see again when I hit the crush. No matter how you drive the road, we all meet in the end— might be a metaphor in there somewhere.

Silly developed from it’s earlier meaning of “blessed” to “pious,” to “innocent” (c. 1200).

I strive for panel two attitude everyday. But not so much the indiscriminate hugging.

After watch some of the road rage videos on YouTube I know I want to stay out of them. An attempted hug could be lethal.

A saint can look like a moron to those who are cruel and self-absorbed. To everyone else, though, he or she is a blessing.
