What gets me the most is that even with the gerrymandering, mud slinging, lobbies, foreign influence and vote rigging, the politicians think they have a mandate.

Our democracy was gone when Trump was elected!

I have only ever truly liked exactly one politician since I passed age 18, and she was a state senate member. A few years ago, she visited a local library, and I managed to corner her afterward and asked her if she could do something about my state-run health insurance people, who simply refused to get back to me. She gave me an E-Mail address, I wrote to it, explained my problem, and one day later, these idiot insurance people called back in a virtual panic, bending over backwards asking if there was anything more they could get me. She got MY vote every time she ran after that.

Those pesky rights to free speech and petition the government!

I could have saved $17 buying “Democracy in Chains”.

Me want mor crocs, any crocs!

And now we have “Demo-crazy”.

If that’s Magic Mike, how come he’s still wearing all his clothes?

That’s where we are in the US now. Bribery is legal. Except we call it “speech.”

I am a fiscal conservative, and I agree that lobbyists , no matter the special intrest group funding them, should be illegal. But I also think there should be a balanced budget. neither of which will ever happen.
