Here’s a thought — wait ’til you get there, and set your watch to match all the clocks around you.

Or the old-fashioned way, don’t carry a watch and keep bugging other people for the time.

Arizona as well as Hawaii sure have it easy not doing DST. Anyway, as the band Chicago said, “Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?”

Time is that dimension along which the human consciousness slides in one direction. Whether objects and events move through time in any particular direction independent of human consciousness is an open question.

I am convinced that DST is responsible for the mess we are in. Messing with time makes people CRAZY.

DST will be responsible for the end of civilization as we know it.

Used to be that way in Indiana when we only observed Hoosier Standard Time… except in the corners near Chicago and KY — no one from outside the state ever knew what time it was here. (and quite a few Hoosiers were also at sea)

Move up here to the mountains, live by sunset/sunrise instead of clocks and everything will turn out fine. No daylight saving fiascos.

That’s why I quit wearing a watch. It gives me a chance to talk with people by starting with… “Damn, I forgot my watch; What time is it?”

Is Pig actually smart enough to take a plane all by himself?

Let me respectfully suggest that if you’re too dumb to reset clocks twice a year, or figure out which way a USB plug goes, you should stay home on Tuesday.

I have watches but they all need batteries. And I don’t remember the last time I wore one.

Once similar in Indiana. When I had to travel to meetings there, I’d call a bank there and say, “What time is it?”

In the summer, Arizona is in the Pacific Time Zone, and in winter Arizona is in the Mountain Time Zone, now an hour off from most of Texas.

My main issue with moving up Daylight Saving Time is that I used to be able to hear Spring Training games during my noon lunch break, but with the time change happening in the first week of March and Arizona not observing it, the games only start at noon on the first week, then they move back to one.

I never have any problems with the clocks going back or forward.

How did Pig end up today in Texas? I thought the PBS crew lived in the Socialist Peoples’ Republic of California.

Anyway, watches are obsolescent. In fact, I’ve stopped wearing one (of the three or four I have) even though I don’t carry around a smartphone. And the world has not ended.

But this is true: Daylight Saving Time is a waste of time and energy. We would be better off, including healthier, without it.

If you have a watch that has atomic timekeeping (gets its time signal from one of the 6 time antennaes around the world) it’ll adjust for you, usually early in the morning. You can also do an immediate time correction, if so desired.
