Hey, panel three proves this guy is a fake.I’m sure the real Les Abell has already heard every joke there is about his name and could guess what Pig was thinking before he opened his mouth. After many years of having a name that sounds like Susan Sunshine, believe me… I know.

Could have been worse. Could have been introduced as Lyle Bel bu he likes to be called Ly Bel.

I’d watch that movie. So, who’s the director? James Cameron? Michael Bay? Wes Craven? That one guy with the beard?

Remember the dude who sued the pizza chain because his last name actually was “Noid,” and he was getting ragged ad nauseum?

Stephan, if the guy doesn’t have enough sense to call himself Lester, you’d better find another lawyer.

Maybe he is a Leslie. We Brits pronounce it Lez, which I think is much better. Being called Less must be bad for the ego.

I love the guy’s confused reaction to Pig’s comment. You’d think with a name like that he would have heard all the jokes before.

I’m not making this up: My father’s proctologist was Dr. Butter. There was a Dr, Kidwell in Largo, FL, who was a pediatrician. I checked Google and couldn’t find her, but did find a Dr. Kidwell in Baltimore who’s a pediatric ophthalmologist.

Yeah. Mrs. Shakespeare pronounced her maiden name “hate-away”, but the shirt maker pronounced it “hath-a-way”, and some people named “Theobald” pronounce it the way it looks, while others pronounce it “tibbled”.

NateWright… not exactly, …. and thanks, Finale, for covering for me….but my first name is Susan and my last name sounds enough like “sunshine” for me ( and my siblings) to have already heard every joke and every bad rendition of every song that mentions “sunshine” and every “original” nickname.. and….. etc.I used to hate being called Susan Sunshine… but I gave up.

Bmonk… If you ever get a chance to google “Private Eye,” the English satirical news magazine, the sections available online sometimes include one specializing in letters from people who sign with names like that. Some are amazing.

Gotta say this has been very good for me…I’ve probably been one of those heard-it-a-thousand-times wise(?) guys who shoot off a sharp, fresh witty improvised harpoon…duh! neither of us has been much in the other person’s shoes…it takes 2!(two) relatively unaware humans to play THIS game of grievance…

it’s a collision of the rough frontier jocularity with vulnerable formalist, the wit who grew up admiring radio humoristsand the long-suffering put-upon upper-status stranger who never quite got the VIRTUE of that kind of a name…they may not respect you but they sure remember you…I’ll always remember Shirley Cumming. She was a great buxom good humored nurse I worked with when I was going through college. TLC QRN.Although there was a vas deferens between us.
