Is it me? or has Dennis has packed on a few lbs. since I saw him?

Yeah, yeah, it was the Family Circus kids! Now, will cartoon-Pastis get a fancy new insurance-funded studio? Will he draw better pictures? BTW, love the cross-over in Dennis the Menace!

Okay Denis graduated to arson. He’s still safer to have around than Rat. How many times has rat tried to burn Patis. Or shoot him?

Heh. Seems Mr Pastis has a lot of friends in the biz. He’s credited in the foreword for one of Darby Conley’s ‘Get Fuzzy’ collections too.

Mr. Wilson would be happy to be rid of him for sure.

Yes, it IS ironic that Dennis the Menace and PBS both did crossovers of each other on the same day. Do you think they both agreed to it?

If this PBS strip was okay’d by the ghost of Hank Ketcham that takes half the fun out of it (which still leaves it pretty damn funny)

I would love to see him crack on Cathy. That would make my month.

Saw him on Dennis and couldn’t wait to see if Dennis was here!

Just saw the Denis the Menace strip and started LMAO. I only read it anymore thanks to the Comics Curmudgeon (joshreads.com), and so it was a great surprise. Of course, Pastis got Hamilton & Ferdinand with a nicer ‘gotcha’ than they got him. sigh Yet another thing to make me sad I couldn’t get to Comics Con.

I’m thinkin’ Mr. Wilson’s garage is next….. DTM has turned pyro

Pastis has said before he’ll call the other artist to see if they’ll do something in their strip when he does a crossover like this.

I think Stephan still practises law on the side. He must be sued by Bil Keane on a daily basis. Now Hank Ketchum’s family can join the class action suit. Still my favorite strip. No holds barred. No sacred cows. (that could be a new character, Sacred Cow, he doesn’t give a flip about anything or anybody. Make’s a good politician)

First time I’ve laughed about “Dennis the Menace” in years.

Wow, seems everybody wants a piece of Pastis! This was so coincidental; not only does Pastis make a cameo in Dennis the Menace today, I’d also seem him in the Get Fuzzy strip the other day, and just now I saw him in a Barney and Clyde strip from March. Ignoring something has never solved anything. If you have to resort to that statement, you have already lost the argument because you cannot think of a good reason why you like something that would refute said negative comment. Which means that you know the negative comment is valid in some way, but you can’t own up to it because you would be admitting to yourself that the comic strips of your day have fallen off a cliff in quality and that the only reason you cling to them is because you’re trying to recapture your youth.

I like it that in today’s DTM Pastis is sitting under a banner reading “Comic Con”. A reference to his recent stint in the pen, perhaps?

Pastis seems to be on a “hot” streak lately. This should answer any “burning” questions as to whether he’s losing his touch.

Looks like Dennis had a cuteness-fail.

I’m sure Pastis had not only permission but help.He’s talked before about doing crossovers with the full cooperation of Jeff Keane, who, after all, is the 2nd generation cartoonist of Family Circus and has a sense of humor about it. He’d also be the first to admit that he can’t draw well enough to have done Dennis, exactly as he appears in his own strip, all on his own. OTOH their “Pastis” looks like they drew it themselves. Cartoonists like poking fun.

If they didn’t get a laugh out of jokes they’d be…well…lawyers and stuff.

Yep. Stephan is in Dennis the Menace today. I think it was a planned crossover.

Dennis is standing in a puddle of gasoline – he could easily have set himself on fire as well. I guess that would have pleased some of the posters here.

Now this is Quality comics. that nauseating leftover from the sixties self-immolates on pearls. finally a good strip this week. can we have the not-quite-aware-creator-is-dead-yet peanuts cast screw up an IED rig next?

Dennis the Menace is too tame and non-menacing these days to be appropriate for that role.
