Good Grief!

if I recall way back when (like, say, my grandparents’ and/or great-grandparents’ time), there used to be two-person desks in schools

Poor Chuck. In for a rough time.

So no sleeping in class today, Peppermint Patty?

Potentially as successful as the Pan American-National Airlines or Pennsylvania-New York Central Railroads mergers…

This is apparently how all the kids ended up in the same class.

Boy, is there going to be a long line at the Principal’s office. Now that the two schools have mixed.

So the Gang live in the same neighborhood but attend differenct schools, at least until one collapsed.

If Peppermint Paty and Charlie Brown ar from two different neighborhoods and go to different schools, how did they meet?

Now Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty temporary share the school desk.

Peppermint Patty is loving this … she has had a thing for Charlie Brown for, well, forever.

double-teamed? With all the sleeping that PP does in class, it’s still more like single-teamed!

Maybe PP will actually stay awake, with the excitement of sitting next to Chuck

Ah, at last, Patty’s dream come true: Charlie, up close and personal. Charlie, on the other hand, will make do.

We always had our own desks. The top opened up and you could put the books inside

’And in an unusual turn of events, a second school building fell down today in our fair town. It is reported that the school buildings last words were “No not Peppermint Patty and Charlie Brown at that same time!” right before it collapsed.

“Chuck”, you need Patty in your life. I’m just saying. Call her Patricia or Pat and see what happens.

I’m pretty sure there are other seats. But what the heck. Perhaps she’ll stay awake for once.

Go Team Loser!

The previous comics helped me realize the context for this comic arc that was adapted for the animated series.

Some years ago an elementary school in the town over from mine was badly damaged in a fire (thankfully it happened on a Saturday, and no one was around except a couple of custodians, who were not harmed). Repairs were going to take years.

Thankfully a Catholic school on the border between that town and my own had recently closed, and the building was still sitting empty. The parish invited the school district to use the building free of charge for a couple years. In exchange the school district made a number of upgrades to the old building, and when the original school reopened and the district moved out, the parish was able to sell the building for a handsome profit.

I didn’t know PP played basketball too.

Speaking of “double-teamed”… when they’re sent to the principal’s office, will both principals be together?

That’s a infectious sharing thought !

Big seats or really small kids…

Either she’s finally going to get a good grade (in comparison to Peppermint Patty, Charlie Brown’s average student looks like a straight A student) for a change or poor Charlie Brown is about to get straight Fs.

She might like that.

(Well, not by the kids, though…)
