Peppermint Patty gets herself in some awkward situations. I remember a story arc where she went to a school for gifted kids because she thought she would get gifts.
How much varnish did the rink owner use after Peppermint Patty’s fiasco?
so find an ice skating competition Patty! you first clue was the competition was in Arizona! (though they do ice skate there too)
That’s right, Patty, the one who made a fool out of you was YOU and you alone. Remember this. Write it down if you have to.
PP seems a bit surprised and perplexed regarding the owner’s reaction…
Pretty sure they weren’t laughing at your skates…
They gotta be more specific when they say what kind of skating party they are having.
Is it just me, or is that wig getting taller?
Well, at least someone else is also unhappy.
Gee, I wonder why, PP…
I needed two sets of wheels for my skates—indoor rink and outdoor sidewalk.
Bowling alley owners hate those lofted balls also…but whatcha gonna do?
On the other hand, you got a new ’do!
It took showing up at an roller skating rink with ice skates to figure out that you’re making a fool of yourself?
If Patty’s wig were just a little darker, she could be Tom Baker.
It must be a humid day there…..
Well you can’t roller skate in a buffalo herd.
Marcy thinking: “I need new friends”
she should have buffed it with her hair!
Poor Patricia :( All she went through just for this.
Yeah they are. You can’t even go roller skating with skates you use out on the street at a roller rink (at least not all roller rinks allow it). It was either back in our teens or early twenties I asked the daughter of a friend of the family why she had two pair of inline skates. She explained the roller rink wouldn’t let you skate in the same skates you used on the street or sidewalk as the wheels might have picked up pebbles that could damage the floor. So rather than have to change the wheels out everytime she wanted to go to the roller rink, she just had two different sets.
A groovy roller rink.
On that last panel, can you blame him?
