I’m glad I had two sons. I wouldn’t know how to style a girl’s hair if my life depended on it. By the time I had to watch my granddaughters solo, the older two could take care of and dress their younger sister.

When this was written, I believe barbers and beauticians had separate state licenses and went to separate schools to learn their trade. A barber could not cut a woman’s hair in the shop, or a beautician cut a man’s hair.
