I was called to the principal’s office 2 days before HS graduation. I could not imagine what I had done. He said, “I know school has been hard for you, and I’m glad to see you made it.” (With honors, no less!) NOBODY would believe me that’s what he said, so the rumor went around school that Tentoes was not graduating. (They did not know me by that name.)
In the military, at least, it is (or was) a punishment detail for basic trainees. Cleaning the grease trap really wasn’t that bad, becasue somebody had done it yesterday, too. H’ever, I can see that it would be a disgusting dirty, stinking, cussful job if it’s been a couple of months.
Many in my collage dorm needed to walk past our rooms [with our names next to the door] to access the cafe. When I got called down, the question was “Why did I not register my gun?” which I never have touched one. Fortunately the other person there said I was not the that they had stopped in the woods.
Oh Lord! Please let me peel potatoes, anything but grease trap duty. I guess I could get assigned to the “Dirty Dozen” and the “Heads”. Been there, done that.

When he’s called into the principal’s office at school, what is on Charlie Brown’s mind and sheepishly asks the principal about it?

If this ends the way I think it does, Charlie Brown’s going to be quite pleased at being called to the counselor’s office.

Same thing happened to me at camp, but it was because of the ‘panty raids’ on the girls camp.
