I don’t think the teacher was being at all fair. This is the most creative bit I think I’ve ever seen Sally do. I would have let her continue!

We have “fall” here in Texas . One day it’s 100 degrees . The next day it’s freezing and all the tree leaves fall off .

Those commercials are the worst. Kids should be allowed to expand their imaginations.

Aw, Sally, it’s okay. Your sweet baboo will be up soon to present The Great Pumpkin, and he’ll have to reference your autumnal collection.

Now, that was a brilliant presentation. It managed to work in bits of horticulture and the water cycle as well as some local geography. Sheer genius. I didn’t think she had it.

“First they want you to show-and-tell, then they don’t want you to show-and-tell.” Depressing, isn’t it?

Reminds me of the urban legend about the little girl who used Show-and-tell to reenact her Mother’s home birth of her baby brother, complete with talk about the umbrella (umbilical) cord and the playcenter (placenta).

I’ll bet it took her a while to clean up all those leaves she dumped. Which will wither and turn ugly very soon. I used to wax leaves every fall. You melted clear paraffin in a tin can. and dipped your leaves in them. Then you laid them on newspaper to dry. It had a smell all it’s own. Mom was always there so you wouldn’t burn the house down. I did burn my fingers a bit every time. Didn’t stop me!
