Charming lady. Who wouldn’t miss her?
Subtlety’s not exactly Lucy’s strong point, is it?
I read tons of old Peanuts Treasury collections when I was a kid in the 1970s, so it’s unusual to come across storylines I don’t remember. But this storyline, where Lucy and Linus are worried that they’re moving away, is NOT one I remember. Fun to read Peanuts not knowing what’s going to happen!
get it over with and say yes
He might miss the smiling face, but not the yelling one.
Lucy… please take a hike… OFF A CLIFF!!
I think if Schroeder believed Lucy was moving away he’d have the same reaction I had when a woman I disliked announced she was moving to Seattle. I had to pretend to be sorry because she didn’t want to move (she had to move because her husband’s job transferred him) but later when I was alone I shouted GLORY! and did the happy dance!
I remember this sequence. A strange reaction coming from Schroeder here in a few days, which includes an interesting clue in how Lucy is drawn.
He wouldn’t miss your big mouth!
Do any of you try to picture the parents of the Peanuts cast?
I think Schultz once said he doesn’t show adults because he wants people to imagine what they look like.
This is the strip that precedes Lucy and Linus actually moving and that Schroeder found himself remembering Lucy and asking , “I got accustomed to that face?” – he missed her. I loved that series…
He would not miss her big mouth.
Well after all, she IS deluding herself.
