Peppermint Patty and Snoopy lie under boards. Marcie stands next to the pile of wood and says, "Wow!" Peppermint Patty says, "All right, Marcie, I hope you're satisfied! You've destroyed Chuck's guest cottage!"<BR><BR> Marcie shouts, "It's not a guest cottage, sir, it's just a dog house! And Snoopy is not a funny-looking kid with a big nose!! He's a beagle!"<BR><BR> Marcie continues, "When are you going to face up to reality?!"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty looks at Snoopy's feet and says, "A beagle?" Snoopy says, "Woof!"<BR><BR>

Peppermint Patty, in last panel: “WHAT? Snoopy is actually a DOG? To think that all this time, over the past eight years, I always thought he was some funny-looking kid; how WRONG I WAS!” And not only that, as Marcie tells her, that she(Patty)has also been wrong, about Snoopy’s SO-CALLED GUEST COTTAGE-it’s a DOGHOUSE, for Pete’s sake, because he is a DOG!"

Marcie explains to Peppermint Patty that Snoopy is a beagle, in fact, Charlie Brown’s dog and Peppermint Patty finally realized it. Now, Marcie probably needs to realized that Peppermint Patty is not a full-grown yet short man, especially that she always tells her to stop calling her, “sir” because she hates that a lot.

This strip appears on this weekend’s dates(March 16-17 2024) St Patrick’s Day weekend 2024 of course, on the 2024 Peanuts desk calendar. Roughly 50 years to the day when AT LONG LAST Peppermint Patty discovered that Snoopy was a dog(a beagle) and not human(not “a funny looking kid with a big nose”). And likewise that Chuck’s so called “guest cottage” was therefore Snoopy’s home, a doghouse. After having labored under this delusion for the past eight years,(since she had joined Peanuts), ABOUT TIME she found out Snoopy’s correct identity!!!
