Marcie and Peppermint Patty sit at the table. Papers are scattered all over. Peppermint Patty says, "Okay, Marcie, you and I are the invitation committee."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty looks at a piece of paper and says, "Now, here's a list of all the people who are to receive invitations to Charlie Brown's testimonial dinner . . . At the bottom of each one, we put R.S.V.P."<BR><BR> Marcie asks, "What does R.S.V.P. mean, sir?" Peppermint Patty replies "Revised standard version, please."<BR><BR> Marcie says, "I never understand your jokes, sir . . ." Peppermint Patty says, "Stop calling me 'Sir'!"<BR><BR>

No, by this time, Marcie had been with Peanuts for almost two years; she made her debut over summer 1971, when she and Peppermint Patty met, at summer camp. And from THAT MOMENT ON, (when she and Patty met each other)she had ALWAYS called Peppermint Patty “sir.”(to Patty’s face, anyway.)
