    I suspect for the majority of the early work they just took non-color reprints (like from the original paperback peanuts collections) rather than the color newspaper submissions.

    When they’re reprinted for classic peanuts the colored versions show up again.

    Either way, I’m just happy to be able to read most of the archive online.

    I have to wonder whether it’s a coincidence that Captain Arthur Roy Brown is credited with shooting down the Red Baron. Charlie, you got any relatives up north in Ontario?
