Linus sits on a chair amidst his toys and says, "Rats! Rainy days drive me crazy!" Lucy says, "Hey! Come here!" Linus asks, "What's up?"<BR><BR> Lucy stands next to an easel and says, "This, Linus, is what is known as a 'flannelgraph' . . ."<BR><BR> Lucy continues, "I have tacked a piece of flannel to this board as you can see . . . Now I have also used a piece of flannel for these little cut out figures . . ."<BR><BR> Lucy says, "See? The figures stick to the board making it an ideal method for telling illustrated stories . . . Now if you'll just sit over there, I'll entertain you with an exciting tale."<BR><BR> Linus sits and thinks, "This is great! What ingenuity she has!"<BR><BR> Lucy points to the easel and says, "Now this is the story of the Shepherd and his three sheep . . . One day a shepherd was standing on a hill . . ."<BR><BR> Linus thinks, "I wonder how she thinks of things like this? A flannel graph! Just imagine!"<BR><BR> Linus thinks, "I wonder where she got the flannel in the first place to . . ."<BR><BR> Linus's hair stands on end in horror. Linus rushes to the easel.<BR><BR> Linus holds up the flannel with the cut out pieces and says, "My blanket!!"<BR><BR>

Somehow, Linus’s blanket gets ruined time and time again. Seems like his parents must have many, many backups.
