As to who the so-called Mad punter is. CB’s and Linus’ expressions in last panel are priceless, all like,“So THAT’S the answer to this mystery! All this time,it was MY OWN DOG!”

When I was first reading these strips as a little kid in the mid-1960’s, the frequent swings in weather/temperature sometimes confused me, not realizing Schulz set the strip in a mysterious place combining the Minnesota of his youth and postwar years with his then-current milieu of Sonoma County (and sometimes threw in a little Colorado Springs or Needles).

These days though, such weather seems perfectly normal.
