so much for asking for an honest answer

Be glad you did not give her the other answer. You know which one I mean.

There are a few questions where a man can never give the “right” answer. Besides the one above anyone that involves guessing a woman’s age is a sure fire way to get in trouble if you answer.

At least she was for CB, until the little red-haired girl came along.

I remember the reference to the little red-haired girl being confusing to some of my friends who remembered Patty’s red hair. [Though her hair was also rendered at times as brown, blond, even black.] They wondered why he was suddenly infatuated with her and why he didn’t just refer to her as “Patty.”

Even more confusion when people began to confuse her with Peppermint Patty.

I didn’t quite get why my friends were confused, though.

And then Lucy wonders why CB didn’t answer her right away about whether she was pretty.

Darned if you do, darned if you don’t!

I have a naturally sarcastic tone to my voice, so I usually have to specify when I’m NOT being sarcastic.

Really, Chuck, it Was a bit over the top

Um, beautiful inside or out?

You never can win with girls.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder …

I was going to comment that all CB had to do was answer “Yes”, but then I started empathizing with him. If Linda Purl and asked ME that question, my answer would have been pretty much the same. (In my opinion, Linda is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Even now at 63.)

and if that happened to me, I would say something rude right after, ‘well, you are ugly now’

Women should be stronger and not care what their age is just how they themselves are regardless.
