ps: Doofus often confuses reality with T.V., where something drastic always happens early in the show to distract from the bad actor and director. That’s when the star (D.D.) takes charge and dominates the entire story with his 2nd grade nuclear heroics.

What a country we are in when the National Security Advisor was lying about his contacts with the Russians, and when the Press Secretary and the President’s Councilor (Conway) routinely lie to the public, and when the President himself seems to have no regard for the truth, and when the President operates by denigrating and insulting anyone who disagrees with him, and when the President seems more interested in his own finances and the business dealings of his family than he is in the welfare of the country. Working together with Trump means colluding in the breakdown of American democracy.

I’ve always rolled my eyes whenever I’ve come across the expression “…leader of the Free World” and the president of the USA is mentioned in the same sentence. More so now.

Can we agree Angela Merkel deserves that distinction instead?

Although HEN3RY is wrong about almost everything (whether through ignorance or dishonesty I would never presume to know), this cartoon is far from Oliphant’s classics. It really is just name-calling. The name-calling is truthful, yes (Donald Trump is very loud, very stupid, and very dishonest, and possibly insane), but there’s no wit here, no unexpected twist, no attention to detail. (His hands, for example, are NOT noticeably small in this cartoon.) I think Oliphant was the greatest political cartoonist of the 20th century, and I have no doubt he can still create great cartoons—he did it frequently in the 21st century, after all. This just doesn’t happen to be one of them.

So the “new” media, Breitbart, Fox, Info Wars are good?I remember when Alex Jones first appeared on Art Bell’s show. I’m STILL waiting to see pics of those “internment” camps Bush II, later Obama, were having built. Also waiting for pics of that superhighway from Mexico to KC that would be only for trucks bringing loads of stuff here to undercut America. You can SEE it from the AIR he said!

I had the privilege of getting my first job at the Adelaide News as a copy boy where I worked with Pat Oliphant for more than a year – a person one could never forget. If by an amazing chance Pat should read; this to confirm Frank Callander supervised the dog box where we resided. Murray James was chief of staff, Ron Boland editor of the Mail. Reporters included Laurie Jervis senior and junior, John Veitch, Peter Michelmore etc. I was the tallest guy in the building, a long skinny kid. I’m fairly sure Pat used a tiny penguin as his logo in those times. Left Adelaide to move west, will always remember his brilliance.

In 2017, the White House’s National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense survived the transition intact. Its mission was the same as when the Obama administration established it after the Ebola epidemic of 2014: to do everything possible within the vast powers and resources of the U.S. government to prepare for the next disease outbreak and prevent it from becoming an epidemic or pandemic. One year later, the White House dissolved the office, leaving the country less prepared for pandemics like covid-19.The U.S. government’s slow and inadequate response to the new coronavirus underscores the need for organized, accountable leadership to prepare for and respond to pandemic threats. In a health security crisis, speed is essential. When this new coronavirus emerged, there was no clear White House-led structure to oversee our response, and we lost valuable time. Health systems are struggling to test patients and keep pace with growing caseloads. The specter of rapid community transmission and exponential growth is real and daunting. The job of a White House pandemics office would have been to get ahead: to accelerate the response, empower experts, anticipate failures, and act quickly and transparently to solve problems. It’s impossible to assess the full impact of the 2018 decision to disband the White House office responsible for this work, but it is clear that eliminating the office has contributed to the federal government’s sluggish domestic response. What’s especially concerning about the absence of this office today is that it was originally set up because a previous epidemic made the need for it quite clear. When asked about the slow roll-out of coronavirus tests in the U.S. on March 13, President Trump responded, “I don’t take responsibility at all.” Trump is not just responsible for it. He owns it The Trump Plague is not just his responsibility. It’s his fault.

Democrats liked Obama; I didn’t vote for him since I watched videos of him in 2007; He was a radical, well versed in Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules For Radicals’. Obama gave us 8 years of: “The USA is bad” apology tours; ‘Fast and Furious’; IRS blocking non-profit status for all conservative groups; “Carbon dioxide is bad” EPA regulations; “You can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan, the average family will save $2500 per year” gave us Obamacare. ALL lies! [Ben Rhodes, the Obama minion was on video bragging: “American voters are stupid; we just lied and easily got it passed.”] Before leaving, Obama, through his FBI and DOJ, thought it was okay to spy on the opposition party; After leaving, Obama’s FBI and DOJ holdover leaders thought it was okay to try to overthrow a duly elected President. [You may hate the Electoral College, but all the ‘flyover’ states which had a say in the election BECAUSE of the Electoral College, DID elect Donald Trump President! Just look at the total of Counties that voted for each.] Given the chance, I would have voted for Herman Cain in 2008; As the first Black President, he would have done NONE of the Obama- approved evil things that I mentioned. [There were MORE!]

You are too easy on him Pat, he is really a demagogue or rabble-rouser a leader who gains popularity in a democracy by exploiting emotions, prejudice, and ignorance to arouse some against others, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation. Demagogues overturn established norms of political conduct, or promise or threaten to do so.

How about the price of gas, or the speed of getting the vaccine you idiots are hell bent on having everyone get, I wish every one would get it also, this we agree on, how about the lowest un-employment in 50 years, how about trying to close the border for illegal refugees, and not but not least is his plan to end the war the war, it had stipulations that the animals did not honor. Also he was going to wait until all our people were safely out also the Afghans who worked for us. Oh no not your hero who closed the Pipe Line, opened the border so wide we have a invasion, also told us the vaccine wouldn’t be ready for a couple years and when it was, some of these morons said it is not safe to use because Trump rushed its completion. The same ones who are demanding everyone get at least one of them. Now after looking at these facts and there many more who is the Doofus now, and before I forget how about those 13 soldiers, marines, sailors and all those Afghans who were killed. Completely un-necessary co-lateral damage Trump was going to wait. Biden can’t remember what he had for lunch the Senile Dope. Whose the Doofus now?
