    The Iranian leadership may be fundamentalist, but much of the populace is more liberal, if not pro-western.

    The Iranian people want to show that they don’t like being pushed around. It is a big concession for the Ayahtolla to reverse his decision and call for an investigation. It may not amount to much but it is a conciliary gesture.

    Nomad, I served as an election judge in Minnesota for several years (I did not serve in this last one). Most of the state is about 50/50 leaning towards Republican with the more rural areas and a few affluent TC suburbs more so. Our state and local representation reflects that.
