They might want to consider a pen name. Remember Dalton Trumbo or whatever his name was?
Is a screenwriter like a skywriter, but with a different medium? Either way, I suspect that this guy’s not going to get many buyers: Politicians are already expert in that field.
It’s a novel approach.
Dunno why – but reminds me of an old RD section called “Drama in Real Life”.
There’s far too much of that crap going around.
History re-written. That profession is almost as old as “the oldest profession”.
And the next president of the United States is, Cornelius Noodleman!
hmm. it just so happened that I finished watching – Traced Amounts by Eric Gladen. that sign look like it could read “CDC”
no need to reimagine history. just need to discard the statistics that doesn’t fit into your agenda.
More like " History re-imagined to fit you dreams "
Jan, 6, 21 script by Trump, Bannon; public pillories by Cheney.
Alternate reality while you wait. We used to call it science fiction, but their customers hate science.
to^^@count olaf above-the real ’Ministry of Truth" (like the original in the book 1984) was a large part of the Trump administration-where you needed an encyclopedia just to keep track of the lies
It must be true because that’s what I want to believe.
The defense script for the TRAITORS of 1/6.
Wasn’t there a strike or something?
You can’t make up the outrageous garbage slung by the right wing wackos. They’ve got fantastic imaginations.
Not new. I mean really, how much of the history of the English people did we get from Shakespeare?
Most stuff from FAUX Noise qualifies as Science Fiction…
I can’t understand why Disney can reimagine history in their recent live-action Lady & The Tramp, but Song of the South is still forbidden.
Anybody interested in an in-depth analysis of which media sources are biased in which directions and which ways can find it here, from a service that specializes in such research: https://adfontesmedia.com
“All Sides” largely agrees with the overall positioning of the above but doesn’t provide as much granularity: https://www.allsides.com/media-bias/media-bias-chart
And, just like the major fast food chains, there’s an outlet in every state house, most local council chambers, and lots of voter recruitment offices.
This is sort of like Winston Smith’s job at the Ministry of Truth in 1984.
Speaking as an outsider – not an American – I find it interesting that these debates take place on a comic page. Wiley is pretty even-handed in making fun of all sides, but it is also clear where his criticisms are directed. Yet, people show up here to claim his words to prove their own point of view; which (1) proves the point in this comic and that (2) everyone has become their own screenwriter for reality.
To paraphrase Benjamin Franklin, “History is recreated by the winners as an excuse for hanging the losers.”
Historical movies have pretty well all been revisionist. The Patriot, for example, switched the personalities of Benjamin Martin and Col. Tavington. You can’t very well have a brutal and murderous protagonist. Then there was U-571, which attributed the British capture of the Enigma machine to an American crew. I’m sure the Texas Taliban are just itching to put their own stamp on some new material.
“It was Agatha all along” fits all situation. Name may be changed as needed.
To those who claim that Fox News is better than other news sources because it out polls them:
Over the past few decades rap albums featuring obscene and sexist lyrics outsold recordings of Ludwig Von Beethoven’s music. Are you going to tell us that it proves that obscene rappers are better musicians than Beethoven? Would you prefer that your kids listen to garbage-mouthed rappers crowing about their booty-lishous babes over Beethoven (or Brahms, or Mozart, or Chopin, or other immortal composers)?
You really have to be willfully blind to interpret a violent attack on the Capitol, complete with video tapes, as an attempt to wash the windows from the inside or to hold a job seminar.
We tried to find someone to write a history with Trump as a kind, knowledgeable, compassionate, loyal, person who only wanted the best for the society he was honored to serve. We couldn’t get them to stop laughing long enough to start writing. There was one guy who tried, but his computer crashed after one paragraph.
Wow, the fungus is growing.
Speech writer for Trumpet the Dumpet???
If I could re-write history,Donald Trump would be in debtor’s prison in a Charles DIckens novel.
They need some good screenwriters if they want people to go to the theaters. But history reimagined won’t do well because it will have a sad ending, anyway you slice it
And here come the TROLLS. And definitely not Wiley fans.
People that can’t handle the truth, make up alternative facts.
A lot of people simply vote for a party without doing any thinking on their own. Much simpler. Seems the Republicans can’t win without cheating. The Democrats need to become as bad in order to win. Does that make them any better ? Sadly, for us, Democrats and the country, I think we are screwed in 2024. The pendulum swings both ways and we just have to ride it out.
No Fox is in charge of lies and half truths.
The republicans are doing perfectly fine rewriting history by themselves.
Sad, but way too close to the truth for comfort.
Yellow journalism 2.0
It’s nothing new. The story about the Pilgrims at Plymouth sharing a Thanksgiving feast with local natives, which was taught as historical fact in schools for many decades (and may still be), came from a novel.
The burgeoning new market for editors History canceled to fit your agenda
The Winners have been rewriting History for years.
The GQP finally realized that there is nothing stopping the Losers from doing it, too.
And then you have the cancel culture clowns and politically correct idiots who just ignore factual history for real and will not countenance ANY deviationfrom their ridiculously stupid outlook. At least most films don’t claim to accurately reflect history
