Knitting is very soothing. Until it isn’t. Skipped stitches. Missed conversions from knit to purl. Needing just ONE more skein of a color that they aren’t selling anymore…

Depending on who you ask, we’re all still living in the latter part of the pleistocene epoch. (And it is an epoch, not an era; shame on you Wiley for not fact-checking that.)

According to some philosophers, both legit and off-the- wall, inside every man lurks a part of him that wants to reorder his life. It’s like a mental girdle. Once loose the stays and there’s no going back.

I think they are wrong to ignore the possibility that that same trait exists in both genders in the same degree.

I also suspect that busting that girdle may be more likely now than before covid shut us in. Be interesting to see what comes of it.

Geologically speaking, the correct term is Pleistocene Epoch, not era.

Strangely enough, knitting was a popular pastime in the Pleistocene. Formerly it was thought that 35 000 year old statuettes of women showed them with braided hair; now it is believed that they gathered moulted animal fur in the spring (which often twists naturally into strands) and wove them into caps.

    The first fashion statement.

I found the cartoon funny and interesting. Loved the cat with the wool. Great start to my day. Could have enjoyed it even more without the constant, ever present politics. I know what’s happening but don’t need to be reminded every second of the day. Hope all have a pleasant, SAFE Memorial Day.

I once had a boss who quit smoking and took up knitting. He said it calmed him down and gave him something to do with his hands. Although he looked a little strange sitting there with his knitting needles clicking away fashioning sweaters out of brightly colored yarn, nobody was going to make fun of this 6’ 2", 269 lb., former Marine sergeant for playing Madame DeFarge.

I had to join just to comment on this stream. One, we are all venting on a comic strip. Kind of sad if you think about it. Second, I know I’m not the only one to notice that Democrats argue with facts without name calling and Republicans can only shout, name call and accuse others of what they do. Now that’s really sad.
