I take that “Self-Destruction” is on the road to Oblivion?

Can’t be a Walk of Fame. No crowd and no media vultures. (yeah, yeah, I know: too linear. Tough.)

I think I got my 15 minutes in 5-10 second chunks, mostly when I got off a great response to someone cracking wise. But I seem to have gotten onto that right hand path anyway.

Is there a Walk of Fame for people that have gone way past the 15 minutes they earned?

Same signs appear at the end of a lifetime. Hope that’s not too morbid.

I’m in Amazon’s “Did You Read That Review?” book. There’s my fifteen minutes…sort of. Much like here, I don’t use my real name on there for the rare time I might review something.

Think I’ll go with Obscurity. Oblivion sounds kinda heavy…

Obscurity isn’t so bad. Everyone leaves you alone at least.

When I was a child, nobody knew who I was. Now as an adult, nobody still knows who I am. I’ll keep it that way. I believe in stealth and flying under the radar. Being too famous attracts vermin.

I remember reading an interview with Keith Emerson of ELP. (A musical group from the 1970’s for those who don’t remember) He was in a food court at a shopping mall and the food vendor told him that he used to be famous, his reply was “So Was I!”.

When one initially gets media & public attention – being quoted, interviewed and applauded when you speak – it does create an exaggerated sense of one’s importance and one does tend to court the press, count the articles & believe the crowd, and take notice when it happens. For most of us that feeling fades when you realize you’re simply filler because the reporter didn’t have a bigger story to cover that day or you’re simply telling the crowd what they want to believe.

Everyone gets 15 min of fame. Some get much more but then Karma bites them on the a$$ and they then discover the downside of being well known. When people think that because you play a billionaire Boss on TV, you can run the country, pretty soon you begin to also believe that you are the “greatest” only to discover that no, you never were qualified to run the country especially since all the “pro’s from Dover” decide to stay home, leaving you with grifters and con men, who are also ignorant when it comes to actually governing. So they just gaslight everyone and far to many people, wallowing in their willful ignorance, refuse to admit that they screwed up and so double down, refusing to listen to the truth, instead elevating the village idiot to the status of cult leader, everything he says is golden truth while everything anyone else says is ‘fake news’ because Fearless Leader tells them it is.
