Mary always tells the truth and Oglethorp always lies. Mary says that Oglethorp says that we’re closed.

Not X (10 to the 23 )+ 1 closed would probably make one think more critically.

Well, fuzzbucket, you certainly elevated the level of discussion today. Thank you so much.

And, since Buttercup reportedly never reads the briefing papers so painstakingly created to help him, it is unlikely he would bother to interpret the sign, much less enter a book shop. Wonder if he even reads his cereal boxes all the way through?

Reminds of a Steven Wright joke about a convenience store “Open 24 Hours.” (But not in a row.)

In very small print at the bottom of the sign:

There are no polar bears hiding behind this door.

Critical thinking is defined as “the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment,” which certainly didn’t define the behavior of both sides of the Senate, especially in the past several weeks.

We need first to learn to think (for ourselves) before we can be critical.

The door is clearly shut. It may be unlocked. There is no easy way to tell by inspection. Even if the door is unlocked are they open for business? Even if they’re open for business do they have anything to sell? This is beginning to look like a difficult problem and we’ve only scratched the surface.

My brother went to his grave lamenting the lack of critical thinking rampant today. He requested that donations to a critical-thinking workshop be made in lieu of flowers.
