Dogsniff had surgery and is doing well.

His quote: “Am alive, in lots of chest pain. Later, Dogsniff”

I expect him back any day now.

Anyone ever wonder what Romney did during Viet Nam?He never got there, had a deferment on religious grounds, and demonstrated in favor of the war while in France for 2 years. After 1973,he was in the clear, as the war was about to end.Cassius Clay also claimed exemption on basis of belief also, and fought it all the way to the Supreme Court, and won, risking imprisonment and the loss of his boxing career. All this is public record.A great video is available on this, running for 11 min., 55 seconds, but powerful beyond belief. A segment from Lawrence O’DonnellLast Word on MSNBC.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/45755883/ns/msnbc_tv-the_last_word/47731140.The link needs be copied carefully, as it’s easy to slip while typing.Lawrence O’Donnell, a terrific guy, does the segment. The reason Romney doesn’t like to talk about Viet Nam.

Better slip a check in the mail to the Infractions Bureau, after enjoying a breakfast of scrapple at the metropolis cafe.Next time, obey the laws of physics, and no more shenanigans within the city limits.A fine example of a law-abiding citizen you are.Think of what damage you have done to your crime-fighting image.

Thanks for your comment.Segment is unforgettable, and had saved it to my “favorites”, and got link from it.Greatly prefer to have fun here, also, and don’t wish to ruin the mood, but this guy wants the top job in the land. We’ll all be affected by what he does if he wins, and the skeletons in his closet need be exposed.Romney doesn’t want to talk about his tax returns, either.Hope the whole truth comes out about what he’s hiding. The Last Word segment was probably a month or 2 ago.

Lawrence O’Donnell, Ed Schultz, Al Sharpton, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Chris Hayes, and a great list of other hosts expose the skeletons in his closet on a daily basis, FAIRLY.All they do is report the FACTS, and not distortions, as is the case elsewhere.

Ignore leftist stuff at your own peril (and ours). Believe right wing stuff only, and we’re all toast. Good idea to listen to both and decide.Political stuff often makes its way into the comment section here because many of Wiley’s strips often have political themes.Believe Wiley to wish to stimulate discussion in this area.Agreed. Comic strips are for fun, and also enjoy this, but also Wiley’s strips often offer political commentary in a humorous way.Viet Nam was visited here earlier this week.Just because “it’s just a comic strip”doesn’t make it any less a legitimate forum for comment than any other forum on the web.

As I have asked many times in the past, please keep your comments to either the topic of the cartoon of the day, the feature itself or comics in general. This is a CARTOON site, not a political blog. If you want to pontificate on your political beliefs and opinions, there’s no shortage of places on the internet to do so. Please take them there and stop dragging it here. If the cartoon is on a political topic, then by all means, say what you want about THAT TOPIC.

Why is this such a difficult concept for some of you?

Superman is bulletproof, and faster than what caliber of bullet? He’s also riding a motorcycle now, and the hump is a spine protector, he’s just trying to point out safety, and that physics WILL catch up with riders who don’t wear safety gear!!

If superman is jumping and landing, there would be deep foot prints. His fantasy requires flying, and even though it is by virtue of our sun being different, it works in galaxies far away under all suns.

I really like the last Superman movie: Superman Returns .with Brandon Routh … they covered the interesting concept where Lex Luthor was let out of prison because Superman never showed for any testimony or trial dates or able to be called in at all (he was flying to some space point to find Krypton survivors) … so I wonder why he is even waiting for this cop to finish writing the ticket? I’d keep hitting his paper pad with a heat ray, every time he started making a note … I know Superman was for justice, but sometimes you just gotta fly outside the box …

As a fairly new poster was not aware of the idea that only certain topics should be discussed certain days. Seems a bit confining, but it’s your strip.

Will to the best of my ability abide by your wishes in this. However, do not believe it is the province of other posters to set the rules as THEY see fit We’d never have anything at all but one-sided propaganda. Is that at all desirable in a country where we need have respect for all views?Believe in any discussion of politics, all views should be considered before rejecting anything out of hand. Tolerance. The reference to my swinehood is just fine with me, and will not be responded to in kind. Not my thing. Have never posted a n attack post directed at anyone, anywhere.Have used some sardonic comments , but not with malice, only an appeal to fairness to all.Controversy seems directed at the link posted by me regarding romney and Viet Nam. Was not pontificating on my part, simply posting a link of a segment on MSNBC of a nationally-broadcast TV show, viewable online. It was an entirely factual presentation of FACTS on public record .No attempt anywhere to put any spin on the story by MSNBC or myself. Not an attack on Mormonism, either, as the fact was, no other faith was given deferment status during Viet Nam for missionary purposes. Can well tell by venom thrown at me that link promoted anger, but this stems from THEIR inability to deal with facts that area a matter of public record.True, the posting of the link had no relevance to today’s topic, and appreciate we all need some comic relief from everyday living. Me ,too. Sorry for my offenses. At the same time, the guy and veep pick are not running for positions of fry cooks at McDonald"s.Kinda important, as their past and present histories will shape the future of millions of people here and abroad.True, my cup of tea may not be someone else’s, but let’s not lose all respect for facts. We are all entitled to our own opinions, but not to our own facts. They belong to a greater truth than our slanted opinions.

@Wiley Thank you for your thoughtful, considered response to my post to you. Consider myself corrected.Love your strip and all the characters within.Truly feel that your strips with political themes present an unspoken and rather unclear wish on your part to speak to matters of importance to all. But, as you say this is not a place for political. blogs, and plead guilty to frequent offenses.Could not agree more that we need a haven from all the noise, all of us, and have personally contributed to said noise.Truly believe in moderation in all things, and the middle road being the best approach to any subject.Have been guilty of adding a burden to some who wish an escape from such.Election year it is. Honesty required of all candidates, and seemingly in short supply. But need to remember a time and place for everything. As stated, am a recent poster, and did not know of your views on the subject. Thanks for your clarification of same.

Thank you my friend, for your statement to Wiley in defense of my posts. Truly, we know not what what we do when we throw thoughts out into cyberspace. Never know what’s coming back at us. Love the comments sections for this!Have heard, and believe, that “thoughts are like letters written and never sent”. Have felt the need ever since to send those letters, and respect whatever comes back, critical, or otherwise (prefer the latter, of course).Loved your posts of last week regarding the problem of posting, that we cannot divine here "body language, facial expression, etc ",to divine true intent of poster. Extremely thorny problem, and thank you for the wisdom of your thoughts here.Namaste.Roughly translated as " the God within me honors the God within you",even in regard to or detractors.Namaste, my friend.

Am constantly amazed by your posts, honestly…..“not possessed of telepathy”….Believe this to be the province of our great teachers, the “animals”.They are such advanced creatures, spiritually.Have noticed this in dogs cared for by me.It seems they ARE possessed with telepathy in their communicative abilities among themselves. They communicate intention to one another telepathically, as a matter of course. That we lowly bipeds could be possessed of the same abilities. What misunderstandings could be avoided!…“.too pointed for comfort”…..How observant, really. This was my greatest sin today.Took others out of their comfort zones with facts, and shouldn’t have.True, we all need comic relief without painful reality being injected into the discussion all the time. We all need escape sometimes, myself included. Many thanks for your post, my friend. Namaste.
