I think it’s a bad sign that they’re all looking directly at the witness. Is there any chance that the installers put in regular glass by mistake? Better check the regulations again, do we have laws against any kind of predator other than “sexual”? May have to let them all go.
For what it’s worth, today this strip was censored by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Only a blank space appeared in the Non Sequitur position, and the following in italic type: “Editor’s Note: Today’s ‘Non Sequitur’ strip was withheld because it was deemed objectionable by Plain Dealer editors. A replacement strip was unavailable by press time.”
Perhaps the Cleveland Plain Dealer should change itself to the Cleveland Bland Dealer. If the editorial board finds this objectionable, one wonders how it edits other news. Grrr.
The censorship by the Cleveland Plain Dealer prompted me to go to this site. Thanks for that, PD. Too bad for you though, I’ve cancelled my 30 year subscription to your paper. How’s that for censorship!
I will be the third to point out that The Cleveland Plain Dealer did not print this. Just a line claiming that it was “deemed offensive”. Fine. It may be offensive to our local population. (I am assuming it was found to be offensive because white people are portrayed as saying all black people look alike? A BS line that in my 32 years in this city I, as a white person, have never said. Nor have I ever heard it said!) But whatever. What annoys me is this strip (that you have to actually have a working braincell or two to even understand) was pulled. However, Dave Coverly’s “Speed Bump” strip from today WAS NOT! It’s ok to post a strip about COOKING BABIES! But not this. WTHeck!
Saw the Cleveland Plain Dealer CENSORED this, went online to see the strip, was underwhelmed. It’s humorous, mostly ironic. That’s lost on the censor-editors ? Simpletons.
I saw the Non Sequitur panel you saw unfit to print as it “deemed objectionable”. You have got to be kidding. That comic is not fit for print but you have no problem with the utterly deplorable photo of the four U.S. Marines urinating on the dead? You need your heads and your standards for what is deemed printable examined.
As the Dealy boys fade away, even the Dalla Snooze is improving. Non Sequitur and Doonsbury are both carried on the comics pages; they have even endorsed Democrats on occasion, although Greens may only be attacked or denied that they are on the ballot.
I stared at this for several minutes trying to figure out the joke. I thought it was a museum display of stuffed animals. Didn’t catch on until read some comments, then saw the gun on one man and realized it was a police line up. If I was that dense, some one at the newspaper was, too.
I cannot believe you strip was pulled from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. I guess you have to be G rated to make it in this business. My comic strip is doomed……….
As a reader of the intelligent comic strips in the PD, I had to go online to see this strip, and I have to say that I don’t get it as to the editors’ reasoning for censoring today’s when the others have been published. I hope they don’t cancel the strip!
The Tampa Bay Times printed this cartoon today.I wonder about a couple of these cartoons today, Stuart Carlson’s and Rob Rodgers that have trademarked objects as part of the joke.
Another great strip. Its a shame that the narrow minded, uneducated,of one sided editors of the Cleveland Plain Dealer decided this day strip was deem objectionable, and was not printed. They did print how big companies screwed local people. When I called to ask why, they refused to explain there actions. I am glad I cancelled my Plain Dealer
I think that The Plain Dealer is on the verge of censorship. I couldn’ t find anything “objectionable” to this strip. Makes me wonder what else they are not printing because of their veiw’s
Notice how in sections of the paper they state the stories are “Secret” or " A Highly Secret Source". Beleive that I got ocean front property for sale near downtown.
