    Years ago, Wiley did one called “God’s Editor”: guy at the desk saying to a miffed deity, ” I know how you like to work. but it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be done in seven days.”

    fredbuhl, good one! Zing! Wildmustang, I once had the priceless chance to work with one of the world’s greatest sculptors Simon Verity. (Google him and St. John the Divine, NY City.) He can carve script in stone, so that it looks like perfect penmanship. I watched him for a long time. I kept thinking,”Geeze, what if he makes a mistake? Or the rock chips wrong? ” I asked him how he could do that, and did he worry about something going wrong? The answer was his standard silly one. “I don’t make mistakes.” Or maybe it was profound.
