Woman: Wait ... isn't the purpose of a speed bump to make drivers slow down? Man: Whatever ... The search to find the best use of the postmodern banker continues.
Biblical correction: Money-CHANGERS, not -LENDERS, were chased out of the Temple. Money-changing was vital in Jerusalem, a center of commerce for many different nations with many different coins. Advertising at the city gates should have said “Use Honest Abe’s scales - LXXV paces below the Temple entrance!”

And where are the trial lawyers? And the Big 3 auto makers? I predict a lot of “front end damage” with “speed bumps” like those.

Great idea for members of Congress!

Solution–they should be used as an external airbag, aka “repelling emboliser”!
(also true of lawyers, a broad category which includes most Congress members)

It’ll really cause a traffic jam because everyone will want to back up and try it again.

Postmodernism is silly all on its own. Putting it into practice as a banker, though, is really scary when you think about it…

Don’t these people have any respect for cars now-a-days?

i know, i know, i know… it’s a speed trap!
Dutchboy1 about 14 years ago
Careful, you could get a ticket for parking in the middle of the street on top of the speed bump. :D

Yes, but would you say that some tickets are worth it?
wndrwrthg about 14 years ago
Rather than speed bumps, I believe we should use them to fill potholes. And if we don’t have enough potholes, we can make some.
bmonk about 14 years ago
@wndrwrthg, you don’t have to worry in the least! After this winter, we have a nearly infinite supply of potholes to fill on the Northern Tundra. :-)
bmonk about 14 years ago
Of course, some of the potholes might be small enough to be rather cramped for the occupants – but that shouldn’t be a problem for too long.

bmonk: Love the new avatar. Is it an Escher drawing?
bmonk about 14 years ago
@margueritem, yes, his “Drawing Hands”, I believe. I just felt rather paradoxical today.
Hope you’re feeling better (after seeing your comments at C&H)

Can we do this with our politicians too?
