How many cases of widespread undetected voter fraud have been identified so far?

That must be a Democrat trying to scare people.Republicans want people to show an ID when voting!!!!!!WOW!What’s next? An ID when buying alcohol?!?!?Or how about when you get pulled over or a police officer asks for ID when you’re on the street?!?!?!OMG!!!!!I can only think of one kind of person that would mind showing ID when voting. FRAUDS!And that’s who the Dims count on fo votes.

Why not use existing drivers’ licenses or state IDs? Why do they need special voter IDs? Just how will it be any harder to counterfeit a voter ID card than it currently is to counterfeit a drivers’ license?

The issue doesn’t seem to be voter identification so much as the type of acceptable voter identification and access to voting. Motivation for restrictions is obviously political. Very third world.

Support for voter ID is a lot like Republican economic ideas; sound nice in principle but produced terrible results (Laffer curve). The way voter ID is being instituted right now it does disenfranchise thousands of people who previously voted. The state governments aren’t setting up the mechanisms or funding to make it an effective practice. They just want to make sure only the “right” people vote.

I am afraid, very afraid, of a total Republican/Goldman Sachs take-over.

The only voter fraud cases currently being found are by Republicans and their candidates.

while doing research for a city election in 2009 i found of the 70 people i know in my precinct who voted in 11/08 were 2 dead people [02/08 and 07/08] that is only 3%

in order to have a case you have to grab them in the act when i found a few months later that dead had voted nothing could be done

what % does it have to reach for you anti id people to think it is a problem?

Should have an IQ test before voting. Bet ConserveGov wouldn’t be so happy when they are the one being disenfranchised

If you are that interested in voting, you can overcome any voter-ID law. If you start soon enough. My wife had the hardest time getting a passport because the county in California when she was born did not issue official Birth Certificates at the time. They will certify, based on hospital records, but there was no actual birth certificate, and never will be for people born at that time.

And even if records are available, you are depending on a bureaucrat who has no reason to rush to move your paperwork. If you start the process a month before the election, and the state gets you your info within 8 weeks, you don’t get to vote, and it’s not necessarily your fault.

But if you start early enough, understand the nuances of the law clearly enough, and you are willing to persevere, you will be able to vote in most any state that it’s legal for you to do so.

So the question becomes: of all the problems we have in this country, is voter fraud the highest priority at this time? Could we possibly put some of this energy into, say, tax reform or immigration reform?

The only way to control these attacks on voter rights is to stick it out and vote. Unfortunately people who actually support democracy are the least likely to vote in any election. There must be a solution here before we accept the next Caesar. (KOCH???) The right wing fringe is more than happy to stand on line.

the way this is looking the dem’s say it is voter suppression if the dead can’t vote because any time any one suggest that the voter rolls get updated they complain about voter suppression
