I don’t know how many may recall the Humphrey Hug-a-Bears that Eckerd’s used to sell (or how many remember Eckerd’s at all) but my wife and I got married in ‘88 and the first Humphreys were sold that year. We’d get one every year (and still have them) but there was a couple of times I drove around town just trying to find one left. We kept saying they were a sign of our marriage and if we didn’t get one, it meant we’d have to divorce. And then they quit selling them (but we’re still together.) I think the last one we got was in 2005 or 2006 or somewhere around there (the local Eckerd’s had already closed and the last one I got was mail-ordered from some store in Maine.)
