So… what exactly IS “the best version” of ourselves?
The version that is the most useful to society? Devoting oneself to charity and hard work?
Perhaps our “best version” is the one that is happiest? Pursuing goals that lead to self-pleasure at the expense of others?
Perhaps it’s the self-actualized version? A being of pure mindfulness, awareness, and selflessness?
MY best version of myself is sitting in a log cabin by a lake in the mountains, sipping hot tea and writing mystery stories. I’m…uh, I’m nowhere NEAR that version…
