What saves Nancy as a character is that she is NOT a narcissist. Narcissists toggle between delusional feelings of grandeur and abject victimhood. When the world doesn’t confirm their solipsism, they flip, claim the world is picking on them and lash out at their “enemies”. Nancy doesn’t do the second part. She’s just delusional about her own abilities. So are most children. I asked my sports-challenged son who the best player on his Tee Ball team was. He didn’t hesitate to say, “me”.
This hits hard; human interaction is legit like this for me. I explain something that nobody seems to get, they seem to pretend they get it, and then they follow up with something to show they really didn’t get it.
What does she mean switch?
Nancy at least has the ability to forget the doubt she was feeling five minutes ago.
Why is Nancy wearing a long sleeved top and long pants in the dead of summer?
