I was strangely disappointed that Fritzi’s drawing wasn’t an early draft from this comic.
At least the eyes aren’t as low as where a lot of boys look.
This is a really funny comic. I would say it is a great “gag”, but it is much more than that.
She’s also learned how to be an art critic.
The last panel brings up a classic question: Do you know where to place the eyes because you were told a rule to follow, or because you see it clearly in your mind, and you naturally know? And is that the difference between an artist and a techinal illustrator?
I thought Nancy’s dialogue today was great! However, I was kind of hoping for Aunt Fritzi to have been drawing a “Gilchristish” version of herself. To me, it would have spoken volumes about today’s subject. But, the “eye position” last panel worked well too!
Well if you don’t want your critters gawked at or touched don’t make your barn look like a petting zoo.
Aunt Fritzi resolved to return her copy of “How To Draw Marvel Comics the Pablo Picasso Way”.
