Pretty spot on, except I know I couldn’t, and certainly couldn’t day in, day out.
Patience Nancy, someone is making a point about your very own existence.
And how many adventurous ladies out there are going to get out their Nancy cosplay outfits to take a picture of themselves taking a picture of the comic strip?
I understand the humor in the last panel perfectly.
No way can Nancy get her finger through the handle to that mug.
…Yo, this is so DOPE!!!!!!!!!!! ‘Livvy be, like, hatin’ on thaaaa playa-hatas , as we used to say in the Nineties! Word to ya MOMS!!!!!!!!!
I’m surprised that she didn’t scare herself when she saw herself on the computer.
Okay, genuine belly-laugh here. Nicely pointed. ;)
Is there a Peabody for daily comic strips? Give it to Olivia James.
Strange… I have exactly that comment
Well done, Ms. Jaimes!
Nancy is getting all meta on us, and I like it!
Directly addressing the critics. Way to go.
Tell it Olivia!
Chef Kiss perfection.
If you told me I would be reading Nancy 50 years ago, I would have said you were crazy. It was the very first comic I recognized as lame. So either I am now a senile old man, or the new Nancy has done the impossible: revived a long dead corpse of a strip.
Excellent strip and very funny today. But did the colorist forget to make Nancy’s hair bow red in the first image of her in the first panel, or was it to add to today’s theme of change? ☺
A mic drop in a comic strip is a pencil drop, right?
Coke? Or Coke Classic?
Kirk? Or Picard?
Gilchrist? Or James?
Well, Olivia, who do you think is your audience?
Well put Ms. Jaimes
Humor is NOT always changing! The humor of my youth is the ONLY true humor! And the so-called “music” they listen to is just a bunch of NOISE!
199. Two Brothers coming to be executed once for ſome enormous Crime ; the Eldeſt was firſt turn’d off, without ſaying one Word : The other mounting the Ladder, began to harangue the Crowd, whoſe Ears were attentively open to hear him, expecting ſome Confeſſion from him, “Good People,” ſays he, “my Brother hangs before my Face, and you ſee what a lamentable SPECTACLE he makes ; in a few Moments I ſhall be turned off too, and then you’ll ſee a Pair of SPECTACLES."—Joe Miller’s Jeſts, or the WITS Vade-mecum, MDCCXXXIX
Now THIS is funny!
Touche, Ms. Jaimes!
Humour doesn’t change; it oscillates between clever, crude, cruel and clowning. What it always needs is timing and skill. With all the effort in the world, OJ will always be OJ.
this is amazing like im shaking… olivia james is such an icon…….
This hits too close to home.
Strips like today’s are a reminder that this comic isn’t aimed at and can’t be enjoyed by little kids anymore, which is kind of sad.
Olivia got me back into the strip after many years, and I am LOVING it. Bushmiller’s surreal, simple spirit is back at last, but with a very present sensibility and style. And it’s actually funny. Glad more folks are are starting to drown out the mummified haters.
Infinity panel. Wormhole opening!
I could write a better joke than that!
Folks: This is obviously directed at some of the readers who have lambasted her strip because of the changes. Give it a chance! I like it!
Nancy has actually become funny! Well done!
Still not a fan, bus Ms. Jaimes has earned my respect. Well played.
Panel 4 be like: https://media.giphy.com/media/147YFqYhkYsGrK/giphy.gif
Yes, the nerve of people, thinking something isn’t funny when it isn’t funny.
It’s the READER’S fault that they don’t recognize what a brilliant artist I am. Even when I’m one step above stick figures.
