I watched a history show a while back that showed how, basically, that A/C is the cause behind how D.C. and politics got so screwed up. D.C. was a miserable swamp that was pretty much unbearable so politicians were only around to legislate during the cooler months and went home for the hot ones. A/C made it possible for them to mess with us all year long.
