There is a stuffed cabbage dish my grandmother used to make. She cooked enough to feed an entire infantry battalion. However, the more you reheated it, the better tasting it got. And this was in the days before microwaves.
My wife deliberately makes more than a single dinner’s worth. That’s so that two days later I can have a single lunch’s worth. It is usually healthy stuff.
When my wife and I were overseas, we had a pet: actually he was a lieutenant that showed up when he was lonely or needed counseling. We claimed that he was cheap to keep since he ate table scraps. He liked our leftovers.
My brother in law won’t eat left-overs, even if he really likes it and is still perfectly good to eat, because “It’s left-overs. Why would you eat left-overs”. He just won’t get past that thinking

And that is the reason you’ll be having leftovers tomorrow.

I’m cooking for just two. It’s often difficult to avoid left overs. It starts with the prepackaged amounts for many items.

When I cook, I freeze most of it is individual baggies. I love leftovers, especially mine! LOL. Some people just can’t be good at everything.

And you’ll keep on getting leftovers until it’s gone. I cook for one. Portioning can be difficult.

It is an art to recreate leftovers so that the people eating them don’t even know!!

Whenever someone invites me over for leftovers, I always respond: “I’ll be rightover!”

We always seemed to have leftovers, but I never remember having the original meal, Mom was very creative.
