The makeup of the Supreme Court is one reason I would never consider voting for a Republican for president. I once thought McCain might be reasonable, but he himself reminded me that he would be appointing Supreme Court justices, and that was the last of that. I’d hate to think the justices were corporate shills, but it is really hard to explain some of their decisions as being the reasonings of unbiased individuals.
The REAL scary part is the appointees to the “inferior” federal courts, and the blocking by Republicans of appointees who may even be slightly “liberal”- hmm, as in seeing “justice” as dependent upon the law, and facts, and details, rather than political slant, or corporate profit margins.

I really thought the members of the Supreme Court were supposed to be apolitical – that’s how naive I was!

Can that allegation be proved? If so, maybe there should be an investigation. Think?

This would actually be a lot more honest. Thomas’ robe would look like a NASCAR driver’s uniform.

“I say examine them after all in Congress have been examined for same reason, masters.”
Excellent idea! When do we start? We get to pick the panel, right?
Seriously, I agree wholeheartedly.
