Y’know. On 9/11, I was at the office (San Diego), and listened and watched. I wept for those people I didn’t know, called my GF to wake her up, start coffee, and watch. The HR director took me into her office (she didn’t want the staff to see a senior systems analyst so distraught), and remarked, “So many businesses destroyed, all at once.”
Really? That’s what hurts the most? I had no words for her.
I learned later, that there were organizations, with people who thought ahead, who checked to see if the victims had pets in their apartments, waiting for owners… who never came home.
Those are the people who have humanity and empathy for those who were lost, and those who are left behind. Human and animal.
It’s an empathy that Trump doesn’t have. And we have a slow 9/11 every other day, and people like Mr. Lester want us to think it’s “normal”?
