Yet another phrase that the GQP has stolen from the language. Used to be “free stuff” was the crap that you got for signing up for a savings account or a web service. Now they intend it to mean “Democrats invested in infrastructure or the people”. Damn them to Hell.

At least Biden is actually trying to something to help the majority of Americans unlike the last administration who only wanted to help the wealthy 0.1%.

Really? It’s not free, it’s paid for and more importantly it’s what the USA needs.

And what do you get for that investment? Child care subsidies and family leave might allow many to return to the work force. Seems like that might be a decent solution to a growing worker shortage. Then those workers would be paying taxes, right?

Republican economic program: Tax cuts… more wealth disparity… economic sugar high… crash… criticize Democratic-guided recovery as too slow, inadequate, too expensive… repeat.

I am not really certain it was the first time but I can remember when the Interstate Highway Sytem was first proposed as a National effort to improve the infrastructure. It was a big shot of federal funds going into a project, (of dubious connection to nationl defens), that should have been left to local governmennts. Since then, of course, nothing seems to happen in this country without federal funds.

Trickle down economics in reverse. Republicans hate the idea.

And as it’s $1.7 trillion over ten years (as has been pointed out again and again and again) the annual price-tag of $170 billion is a fraction of what is spent annually on the military, with no blowback from Dr Ramirez.

Ramirez still doesn’t get the difference between investing in a country and “giving away free stuff” Like the Republicans did to the rich and corporations in the form of tax cuts and incentives.

President Biden has proposed a social spending plan, his (probably Bernie Sanders) newest “Build Back Better” proposal imagines spending close to $1.75 trillion over the next decade, but budget experts say the true cost of the legislation would be closer to $5 trillion because of the way the programs are structured. Findings from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan group, released on Monday that Biden’s plan could actually cost more than $4.9 trillion in a scenario where the spending and revenue provisions are made permanent, nearly doubling the size of the legislation.

Sen. Joe Manchin, a moderate West Virginia Democrat, has accused the Biden team of using “budget gimmicks” to conceal the true, higher cost of the president’s signature economic spending plan. “As more of the real details outlined in the basic framework are released, what I see are shell games and budget gimmicks that make the real cost of this so-called ‘$1.75 trillion dollar’ bill estimated to be twice as high if the programs are extended or made permanent,” Manchin said during a news conference. “That is a recipe for economic crisis.”

If Biden succeeds in passing this proposal along with a $550 billion bipartisan infrastructure plan, Congress will have approved a staggering $5 trillion in spending in the less than one year since he took office, an unprecedented level. The nation’s debt level is already at a historic high of $28 trillion and is on track to surpass $30 trillion. Get ready for lots of taxes on everything the Government can get away with. There goes the US economy and the value of the US dollar since they have to keep printing more money. It really doesn’t grow on trees.

It is now reported that the actual cost of BBB is closer to 5 trillion, when you strip out the gimmicks and look at a straight-line of 10 years’ worth of goodies vs what it will take to pay for it. And yes, the middle class will end up, as we always do, paying for this boondoggle. #FJB.
